So today we went to see Nara, the first capital in Japan's history. This town was at its peak around 1000AD, give or take a few hundred years (that sounds weird). We saw a sign saying they are celebrating their 1300th or 1700th anniversary this year, pretty cool. Anyways, the big attraction here is the Todaji Temple, the largest wooden structure in the world with a big buddha inside. I was quite impressed. The building is huge and the grounds were immaculate. For more details about the temple and our visit see Fernando's blog at http://blog.mladineo.com/ After hitting the temple we made our way back to the train station (30 minutes or so walking each way) and grabbed lunch at McDonald's again. I have settled into a nice routine of self-made breakfast at the hostel, Western-style lunch out, and Japanese dinner out. On our way back to the station we passed another subway station that Fernando said was the first spot he had street contacted in as a missionary. I took a picture of him there and it is posted above. Once we got back to the hostel, we made arrangements for our early departure to HK and then Malaysia, and tried to figure out how to get to our hostel in Kuala Lampur tomorrow. The sunset photo is looking out the 3rd floor window of our hostel, Japan has been great. We have had great weather and lots of nice pictures, but the adventure begins again.
In KL I don't know how much internet we will have or what we will be doing so we will be winging it much more starting tomorrow. Lets hope it goes well. The blog is finally caught up and I can't wait for bed. 11:40pm here and the alarm is set for 5am.

Ok Yale let's see if you can write one blog entry without mentioning McDonald's.
LOL. A day doesn't go by that we don't eat American.
