My First Night Sleeping in an Airport & Fernando's Arrival

So last night I was technically homeless. I got into HK after 9pm and Fernando was to arrive around 5:30am so I figured I'd just spend the night sleeping in the airport. Sure I could spend $50US or more to get a hotel or bed at a local place, but it wouldn't be worth the time travelling and $ spent. Turns out, I was right, although the floor was much less comfortable than I was hoping for. Thankfully I had a sheet, my CathayPacific blanket, my CathayPacific eye covers, and a whole lot of tiredness by the time I crashed at 2am outside my temporary home at Gate 36. Tom Hanks in Terminal came to mind, but I didn't have any cool story behind my situation. I couldn't find a dark place in the airport but it didn't matter with how tired I was. I slept from 2am to 6am (sorry Fernando, slept right through your arrival) but met Fernando at BurgerKing a few minutes later. Thank goodness for Googletalk, it made finding him in the huge airport a snap.

We had a few hours to kill before we left for Tokyo so we grabbed lunch, caught up on life, and cruised the net. This next week should be pretty low stress for me as Fernando served his mission in Japan and will be in charge. When we got on our flight I was happily surprised to see a 747 at our gate for our 4 hours trip. It was nearly empty too so we each got 4 seats across the middle and I caught up on my sleep with a 2.5 hour nap. Way to go CathayPacific!!!
