With my last full day in the good ole' United States of America I tried to get a few things done. First, I visited my 3-month old nephew for only the second time since his birth. Living away from home has its costs. Second, I visited Costco and had my week-old camera which inexplicably broke replaced with a brand new camera. I hope this one has better luck. Third, I made reservations for hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia, and looked in making airplane reservations for the India part of my journey. It is amazing what Google can do for you! Fourth, I met with my eye doctor to figure out how to avoid going blind, my genetic fate in life it seems at times. Through the miracles of modern science my vision has been fixed, for a little while at least with four contacts, two in each eye. Fifth, I let my brother use his clippers on my hair. For those who know me well, losing "The Part" was like losing part of my basic personality or character. I've had the same haircut since I was about 12. When I returned home to show my Mom my hair she replied by saying, "I like it, it's worldly, hip." With my new "worldly" hair I am ready to embrace the Eastern Hemisphere. In fact, as I write this blog I love rubbing my new short hair and wonder to myself, "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

Way to shave the head! The Enclave sends its love and support. Brigham, Andrea, Diane, and I all approve of the haircut. It takes 10 years off you! :-P
